Where Does the Vectra® RL Stand in the Princecraft Vectra Lineup, and Which Size & Feature Set is Right for You?
The Princecraft Vectra® RL is a pontoon boat that offers plenty of space and comfort for fishing, skiing, or cruising with family and friends. This trim level comes in three different lengths—21’, 23’, and 25’. This means there are options for a variety of needs. However, the RL trim level is just one of many options within the Princecraft Vectra Lineup...But is it the right one for you?
Today, we're going to fill you in on where the RL falls in this lineup, as well as its key features, and the benefits of having a rear lounger on your boat. So, if you're looking for a pontoon boat well-suited for water sports, this post will help you determine if the Princecraft Vectra® RL is the right fit.
Vectra RL® Key Features
To begin, let's discuss some of the key features the RL level trim includes. Although this boat comes in three lengths, these are some of the features that remain the same regardless of the length:
- 5052-H36 marine grade aluminum alloy
- 2 ½" heavy-duty extruded Z-aluminum cross channels
- 1 1/4" anodized aluminum rails
- V-shaped aluminum engine pod
- Pressure-treated wood deck covered with marine-grade carpet
- Walk-thru rear gate with lift and lock hinges
- Walk-thru bow gate with lift and lock hinges
- Stern swim platform
- Stainless steel bow eye
- 4-6" chromed deck cleats
- Permanent gas tank of 110 L / 29 U.S. gal.
While many of the features are the same on the different lengths, there are also notable differences among the three models. They largely come down to how you plan to use the boat, how many people you'll have on the boat, and how much space you need.
Let's talk more about these details next.
Various Sizes for Different Purposes
Now, as for deciding which length might be right for you, there are a few different considerations to keep in mind. For starters, how many people do you plan to have on your boat? The 21' Vectra RL can accommodate up to 10 people, while the 23 ' and 25' can accommodate up to 12.
Naturally, the overall size and weight of the boat increase along with its length. This is something else to keep in mind when determining the size of the boat you want to transport.
These are the approximate weights of each of the three models
- 21-foot: 792 kg (1747 lb.) / 929 kg (2047 lb.) with Sport config.
- 23-foot: 852 kg (1878 lb.) / 997 kg (2208 lb.) Sport config. / 1252 kg (2760 lb.) Performance config.
- 25-foot: 911 kg (2009 lb.) / 1075 kg (2369 lb.) Sport config. / 1310 kg (2887 lb.) Performance config.
If you're looking for a boat with plenty of room for lounging, it's worth considering the 25' over the 21' or 23' as it includes two chaise lounges instead of the one rear lounge included on the 21' 23' trim level. There are various benefits to having a rear lounger on your boat. And if this is something important to you on a boat, it might mean the difference between choosing the 21' or 23' and the 25'.
Benefits to Having a Rear Lounger on Your Boat
There are benefits to having a rear lounger on your boat. It has become a highly coveted feature in pontoon boats. As such, many find the prospect of two loungers versus one very appealing.
First & foremost, it provides a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the ride. Additionally, a rear lounger can be used as a sunbathing platform or fishing. It also offers easy access to the water for swimming and board sports. Finally, a rear lounger can add storage space to your boat.
All of these benefits make the Princecraft Vectra RL® a suitable choice for those seeking a boat with a rear lounger. If lounging is a top priority, it's also worth mentioning the XT model has three chaise lounges offering even more space to enjoy the sun.
Other Vectra Boats
We mentioned the RL trim level is one of many options in Princecraft's Vectra lineup.
The Vectra® 17 is another option in this series worthy of consideration if you don't need as much space (it seats up to five in Canada or seven in the USA), but you still want a pontoon boat with a rear lounger. However, if a bigger pontoon boat is a priority, go for the massive 25' Vectra RL for maximum room and luxury.
When you're choosing between boats in the Princecraft Vectra lineup, you'll also want to keep this in mind: the LT models denote "Lunch Table" while RL denotes "Rear Lounger." The XT, RL, and LT models all come with lunch tables (one or two) and loungers. However, not all of the Vectra base model lengths do.
